ABOUT NEPHERTERRA
Nepherterra Estrada Best is an award-winning public relations professional and communications strategist. She is the co-founder of Pride Public relations, based in uptown Charlotte and Mosaic Communications in her hometown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During her 20-year career, she has successfully managed public relations campaigns in more than 25 industries including health care, government, financial services, retail, real estate and entertainment.
Her resume includes working with organizations like the City of Charlotte, Charlotte Water, Mecklenburg County Health Department, Girl Scouts Hornets’ Nest Council, INLIVIAN (formerly the Charlotte Housing Authority), The Snow Legal Group, Veolia Water, Walmart and Wells Fargo.
Leadership is in her DNA. Her passion for her community is contagious and her energy is infectious. Trained as a journalist, she has a unique background in entrepreneurship, strategic communications and public relations. She understands the power of public relations and has secured thousands of national and local media hits on behalf of corporate, nonprofit, government and small business clients.
Thanks to her experience working in the newsroom for a daily newspaper, she understands how to effectively pitch stories and secure media on behalf of her clients. She has cultivated strong media relationships throughout her career and is a member of the Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists. In addition, she has experience serving as a spokesperson and prepping those in the C-suite for critical media interviews.
In addition to her PR firm, Best recently launched NewsReleaseNow.com, a hyper-local press release service designed for entrepreneurs, small businesses and nonprofits. NewsReleaseNow currently serves the Atlanta, Charlotte, Greenville (SC) and Milwaukee markets, with additional markets being added in the near future.
Best earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Johnson C. Smith University and recently received a MicroMasters Certificate in Strategic Innovation.
